They say the desert holds secrets in its shifting sands.
Long time ago when the stars were younger and the moon shone with a different light, there was a rumour that a cold-blooded thief moved across the sun-baked sand. He’d rob the poor of what little they had & the rich of everything he could get his hands on. He was particularly fascinated with & had a strong liking for Sterling Silver, there was just something so attractive about shiny silver that made him feel confident. He’d stalk his prey for hours and days, just to get a hold of some silver. His tricks & long list of victims became a spine-chilling, cautionary tale - the fear of getting robbed by this man became so apparent that people stopped wearing silver. In fact, knowing that you owned silver felt like a crime. He may not have stolen their silver yet, but he had already robbed them of their freedom to individuality. His silver loot was practically untraceable because he’d melted it down & turn them into ingots, destroying any unique markings. Rumour has it this hoard of indistinguishable silver bricks remains hidden in a dark cave, filled with the weight of his deceit – the only light came from the glimmer of the silver bricks, lying there as uniform lumps.
When Kimi Miski heard this tale, the teacups she was aimlessly floating around the room came crashing down & shattered. She felt instant goosebumps. It wasn't fear, but piercing clarity, her mind’s eye had just cracked open. All those vivid dreams suddenly made sense - those recurring dreams of something shiny, like the moon, stashed away in a dark, quite place. She knew a witch’s dream was never futile, especially since she’d been having it since she remembers being alive.
She got on her carpet & flew higher & higher - till she could see the vast area of the desert. She closed all of her eyes, sat like a lotus & breathed intentionally. She breathed until her carpet, almost magnetically started to drift her in a particular direction. When she opened her eyes, she found herself in front of the opening of the cave. Upon walking inside, Kimi found the legendary sterling silver. Kimi Miski spent a hundred and eleven days in that cold lonely cave, designing & crafting these silver bricks into beautiful, ornamental talismans, enchanting them with positive energy of love, gratitude, joy & luck and marking them with her alias, Imik Simik which meant ‘little by little’. She wanted to sell these treasures amongst those who wanted to awaken their inner potential. She even casted a spell to make the wearer feel incredible & confident. Little by little, she went around the world on her magic carpet selling the talismans till she could. Right before she perished, Kimi Miski sprinkled the remaining talismans in different sands of the world. She spelled them to appear when the world needed it the most.
